DreamCrew Creative is a U.S.-based, globally operating creative studio known for building deep cultural connections through its work with brands like Nocta, Drake Related, Luna Luna, and BWFH. The studio specializes in creating immersive, experiential brand experiences.

Challenge

DreamCrew faced several operational challenges as they aimed to launch multiple direct-to-consumer (D2C) storefronts in collaboration with celebrity-led brands and entertainment IP owners. The limitations included:

  • A rigid content management system (CMS) that slowed the launch of new experiences.
  • Unique requirements from celebrity brands, such as drop shipping capabilities from other Shopify stores, and interactive site functionalities like video games and scavenger hunts.
  • The need for a platform that could quickly launch multiple storefronts for partners like Searchlight Pictures, Nike/Nocta, Luna Luna, and BWFH, while supporting mobile POS for live events.
  • Consistent user experiences for international customers, regardless of location.

Solution

To address these challenges, DreamCrew implemented a tailored, flexible technology stack:

  • Agile CMS: Adopted a composable content management system, leveraging Contentful to enable rapid updates across multiple storefronts.
  • Immersive User Experience: Developed an interactive, multimedia shopping experience using Shopify’s Hydrogen and Remix for the front-end enhancing engagement through gamified and experiential elements.
  • Headless Tech Stack: Decoupled the front and back ends using Contentful, Hydrogen, and Oxygen, allowing for flexibility in design and user interaction without affecting core system functionality.
  • Dropshipping Enablement: Streamlined the sourcing and selling of unique products from partner brands through Shopify’s ‘Collective’ feature.
  • International Expansion: Integrated Shopify Markets and Global-e (depending on the brand) to simplify product listings across languages and currencies, ensuring consistent global operations.
